旧约的神是耶和华以勒，“耶和华必预备”祭物。
亚伯拉罕举目观看，不料，有一只公羊，两角扣在稠密的小树中，亚伯拉罕就取了那只公羊来，献为燔祭，代替他的儿子。亚伯拉罕给那地方起名叫耶和华以勒（意思就是耶和华必预备），直到今日人还说：“在耶和华的山上必有预备。”

耶和华—耶稣舍己作“神的羔羊”
次日，约翰看见耶稣来到他那里，就说：“看哪，神的羔羊，除去（或作背负）世人罪孽的。”……约翰又作见证说：“我曾看见圣灵，仿佛鸽子从天降下，住在他的身上。我先前不认识他。只是那差我来用水施洗的，对我说，你看见圣灵降下来，住在谁的身上，谁就是用圣灵施洗的。”

1221 THE God of the Old TESTAMENT is Jehovah-Jireh, “The Lord will provide” a sacrifice.
Then Abraham raised his eyes and looked, and behold, behind him a ram caught in the thicket by his horns; and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the place of his son. And Abraham called the name of that place The LORD Will Provide, as it is said to this day, “In the mount of the LORD it will be provided.”

Jehovah-Jesus gave Himself as the “Lamb of God.”
“The next day he saw Jesus coming to him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!’ … And John bore witness saying, ‘I have beheld the spirit descending as a dove out of heaven; and He remained upon Him. And I did not recognize Him, but He who sent me to baptize in water said to me, He upon whom you see the spirit descending and remaining upon Him, this is the one who baptizes in the Holy Spirit.’”
