耶穌基督降生的事記在下面：他母親馬利亞已經許配了約瑟，還沒有迎娶，馬利亞就從聖靈懷了孕。她丈夫約瑟是個義人，不願意明明地羞辱她，想要暗暗地把她休了。正思念這事的時候，有主的使者向他夢中顯現，說：“大衛的子孫約瑟，不要怕，只管娶過你的妻子馬利亞來，因她所懷的孕是從聖靈來的。她將要生一個兒子，你要給他起名叫耶穌，因他要將自己的百姓從罪惡里救出來。”
這一切的事成就，是要應驗主借先知所說的話說： “必有童女懷孕生子，人要稱他的名為以馬內利。”（以馬內利翻出來就是神與我們同在。）
約瑟醒了，起來，就遵着主使者的吩咐把妻子娶過來，只是沒有和她同房，等她生了兒子，就給他起名叫耶穌。
馬太福音 1:18-25
1231 Jehovah Jesus is “SAVIOUR-MESSIAH.”
“Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows. When His mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child by the Holy Spirit. And Joseph her husband, being a righteous man, and not wanting to disgrace her, desired to put her away secretly. But when he had considered this, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying ‘Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife; for that which has been conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. And she will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for it is He who will save His people form their sins.’
“Now all this took place that what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet might be fulfilled, saying, ‘BEHOLD, THE VIRGIN SHALL BE WITH SHILD, AND SHALL BEAR A SON, AND THEY SHALL CALL LHIS NAME IMMANUEL,’ which translated means, ‘GOD WITH US.’
“And Joseph arose from his sleep, and did as the angel of the Lord commanded him, and took her as his wife, and kept her a virgin until she gave birth to a Son; and he called His name Jesus.”
