舊約的神是耶和華以勒，“耶和華必預備”祭物。
亞伯拉罕舉目觀看，不料，有一隻公羊，兩角扣在稠密的小樹中，亞伯拉罕就取了那隻公羊來，獻為燔祭，代替他的兒子。亞伯拉罕給那地方起名叫耶和華以勒（意思就是耶和華必預備），直到今日人還說：“在耶和華的山上必有預備。”
創世記 22:13-14
耶和華—耶穌舍己作“神的羔羊”
次日，約翰看見耶穌來到他那裡，就說：“看哪，神的羔羊，除去（或作背負）世人罪孽的。”……約翰又作見證說：“我曾看見聖靈，彷彿鴿子從天降下，住在他的身上。我先前不認識他。只是那差我來用水施洗的，對我說，你看見聖靈降下來，住在誰的身上，誰就是用聖靈施洗的。”

1221 THE God of the Old TESTAMENT is Jehovah-Jireh, “The Lord will provide” a sacrifice.
Then Abraham raised his eyes and looked, and behold, behind him a ram caught in the thicket by his horns; and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the place of his son. And Abraham called the name of that place The LORD Will Provide, as it is said to this day, “In the mount of the LORD it will be provided.”

Jehovah-Jesus gave Himself as the “Lamb of God.”
“The next day he saw Jesus coming to him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!’ … And John bore witness saying, ‘I have beheld the spirit descending as a dove out of heaven; and He remained upon Him. And I did not recognize Him, but He who sent me to baptize in water said to me, He upon whom you see the spirit descending and remaining upon Him, this is the one who baptizes in the Holy Spirit.’”
